Cooties

in this season of joy which brings us such pleasant gifts like the common cold, flu, and the hot new trend - the avian flu...how can one forget the most feared of all childhood diseases - cooties...

i was jokingly telling people that i don't have the cold, but i have cooties (much to hema's annoyance)...and then of course...being the dork i am...i had to go research the subject...of course...i went to wikipedia while i won't bore you with all the details...it has a pretty interesting history...from its possible roots in a malaysian word - kutu (biting insect)...to head lice....to world war II...of course i got the cootie-shot just to be safe.

since i'm watching the news while typing this...i'm going to do a "grind my gears" segment ala Family Guy style...

# - the recent proposal to tax hybrid cars to make up for the fact that they consume less gas and thereby pay less federal fuel taxes...ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!!! that's the whole freakin' point!!! oh my god....the congressman who introduced this must be impeached for being the absolutely most irrelevant factor in mankind...good god - how far does the big oil lobby reach?!!

# - teachers who sleep with their students...seriously - was our public education system not crappy enough...might as well rename the schools Jerry Springer High...or wait - that was middle school...yeesh!

# - finally - the commercialization of the holidays - ok i'm not christian...but really thanksgiving = shopping?!?! i just read about a brawl this morning at a wal-mart...then wal-mart gleefully reports 2 million shoppers in one hour! i really think we're spiralling downwards...well i better wrap this up - gotta see if i can still make it to TJMaxx and get some deals!! i keed...i keed.

and that america...is what grinds my gears!!!

Caption Contest Winners

before i forget...the winner of the caption contests:

for the one with G pointing at something - the winner is no one...they were all pretty lame...

for the one with me feeding the goat - the winner is anonymous - the one with the Sir Billy Goat caption...

ah yes...so anonymous - step forward to win your prize...i'm offering $100!!! ah..but wait...you can't...you're anonymous! that must suck...oh well...i will just keep the money...better post your name next time...idiot.

I am a Hinjew.

you know...i always joked with my friends that i was part hindu and part jew - making me a hinjew...the hindu part coming from my spirituality...and the jew part coming from my "smartness" with money (if you're gonna have some PC reaction to this - click the X on top right now...)...anyway...i seriously think both cultures have a lot in common...but a recent news blip sent over by the Toddler gave credence to my theory...before you read further - let me reiterate that i don't mean any offense by this attempt at humor..

Indo Jew Bowl VI - a football bowl like no other...and guess what it discriminates...damn straight! if you're not an indian or a jew - get lost...well actually i think they let some haitians and random asians come along...anyway...i thought that was pretty funny...so i decided to give it some press through my overly popular blog [checking today's stats - 2.6 people viewed this page...wow!]...oh yea - here's the news story

the funniest thing i found was that the indian team was primarily composed of people from the state of gujarat...now if you know me - i'm gujarati...and lets just say we're not the "sturdiest" fellas out there...i mean in a pinch we could make some trouble...but lets just say if you cross a gujarati in a dark alley...you can likely pick him up and throw him at the real goon as you make your escape...of course...i'm the exception...being massively ripped and all...

well...that was all really...nothing else going on up here...school's a drag...i might quit...and pursue my aspirations in farming if shawn would only sell me his farm...one day that pecan orchard will be mine...muhahaha [evil laughter continues]

Batten Down the Hatches!!!

Hurrican Coenen et al. is coming. The National Weather Service has issued an advisory. Batten down the hatches and begin outlining post-haste. Yikes!!

yes...its that time again...time to start poring over the notes for the semester and making sense of them...you know most of us would be content just reading our notes and studying for several hours...but some idiot law student at some point in the past (the class of '54 i believe) came up with this thing called outlining...and so basically you have to take your notes (which aren't complete because you were toggling back and forth btw online poker and fark)...and put them into concise little bullets...uggh....well anyway...that time is hear and my slogan has become - batten down the hatches! amusingly enough....granville actually responds by folding his ears inwards (mimicking the battening down process of course)....i was quite tickled...but then later i caught him and dix playing poker when they should have been outlining...

not much been going on since last time...celebrated the indian new year and diwali...that was cool..went to atlanta...woke up at 4:30AM!! the morning of...and recited some prayers at the temple...then we had a big indian breakfast with chai....it was cool...but hema couldn't come cuz she was sick (on purpose i think)...but it was cool - i got to meet her later on though...

haven't had much time to think of anything else....just been busy with school...oh yea - dix' birthday...i posted some pics from that...haha...they're hilarious...

well - will try and post later...but as you know the storm is coming...so BATTEN DOWN THE HATCHES!!!
